A nocturnal pilgrimage through the alchemical transitions of matter and the subconscious, where the moon stands as a silent witness to the metamorphosis of the human soul.
Moonwatcher was a solo exhibition by Jim Amaral (b. 1933) that explored the celestial and subconscious dimensions of his multifaceted practice. Centered around themes of observation, mourning, and anatomical botany, the exhibition brought together fundamental series such as The Invisible Flowers and Fruits of Mourning. This presentation highlighted Amaral's unique ability to navigate the 'dark areas of the soul,' transforming existential transitions into a rigorous visual language of bronze, watercolor, and oil.
