Jim Amaral: A Tree and Its Shadow at Instituto de Visión
Instituto de Visión is pleased to present A Tree and Its Shadow, a retrospective exhibition of the work of Jim Amaral (b. 1933). This exhibition offers an intimate look into sixty years of continuous artistic evolution, revealing a universe deeply informed by literature, astrology, and human anatomy. From his early subconscious landscapes to his monumental urban sculptures in Bogotá, Amaral’s body of work bridges the gap between historical tradition and a unique, personal mythology. Curated by Beatriz López and Álvaro Robledo, the show underscores the artist's legacy as a pioneer of visual representation in the most nuanced and celebrated versions of the human condition
